Hi, I’m Jodes!  The photographer behind Sensing Angels Photography.
At the heart of my work is one simple intention:
to help people feel seen, safe, and genuinely themselves in front of the camera.
I specialise in portrait and people-focused photography, capturing more than how someone looks — I capture how it feels to be them. My sessions are calm, grounded, and supportive, designed for people who may feel a little nervous, a little vulnerable, or simply want images that reflect who they truly are, not a forced version of themselves.
I don’t photograph everything — and that’s intentional. By staying within my specialty, I’m able to give my full presence and care to the people I work with. My focus is on creating images that feel authentic, respectful, and emotionally resonant — images that help people reconnect with themselves and see their own value with fresh eyes.
Photography, for me, is deeply human work. It’s about trust, emotional safety, and connection. That’s why I’m drawn to meaningful projects, community events, and causes that uplift others and make a positive difference. Being invited into someone’s story — even briefly — is something I never take lightly.
Outside of photography, you’ll usually find me travelling, exploring new places, camera always in hand, or enjoying a quiet moment with choc mint (my not-so-secret weakness). I’m endlessly inspired by everyday beauty and the stories that live in ordinary moments.
I know how hard people can be on themselves. I see it often — in friends, in clients, in the way we speak to ourselves. My work is a gentle counterpoint to that. A reminder that you are already worthy, already enough, exactly as you are.
I’m deeply grateful to every person who trusts me with this experience. It’s an honour to create images that reflect not just how you look — but who you are.
If you’re looking for photography that feels respectful, grounded, and genuinely supportive, I’d love to work with you.
